Wednesday, Jan. 18
On January 18, everyone in the Habitat for Humanity group got together and participated in a walkathon. We were divided up into groups, and each group was assigned a color. My group was called Dumbledore's army and we all wore blue shirts to the walkathon.
We competed against the other teams in different relay races, including a race on stilts, a dripping sponge relay, a "race across the river" where we had to cross a room without touching the floor, and another relay race where two people had to run holding up a large rubber ball without using their hands.

After the games, we walked around the school for about two hours. We had fun walking, talking, and just goofing off.
After a while, people started getting lazy and just stopped along the side of the road and chatted. One boy brought a drum and started playing. Some kids started dancing and singing to the beat of the drum.
Once the gym teacher blew her whistle, we headed over to the dome and had barbecued hot dogs for dinner. Prizes were awarded to the people who had raised the most money for Habitat for Humanity, and then we were free to do whatever we wanted.

My friends and I played on one of the school playgrounds till just before the school gates closed, and then we waited outside the school for our rides.
