Brooke got both of her casts off today - yea! The doctor barely looked at her, so I hope her wrists have really healed! She says her thumb has been numb the whole time. Hopefully, the numbness will wear off. I told her not to climb or be rough on her wrists for at least a week, but I found out that she swung on the rope today that she slid off of, when she originally fractured her wrists... good thing she's being so careful!
The airline delivered our four missing boxes today and Brooke is having fun trying on clothes that she brought from home.
We enjoyed unpacking all of the boxes... almost like Christmas again! Some of the things we brought were winter clothing, pictures for the walls, fabric to sew curtains, bathroom hand towels, canned dog food, chocolate chips, brownie mix, brown sugar, frosting, Listerine, folding camp chairs, and we even bought camp forks to roast our marshmallows! These were the only camp forks were could find at Wal-mart, and we didn't have the time to look for them anywhere else, so we bought these giant things and had to make a box specially to fit them. Oh well, next time we go sand sledding, we'll have the best camp forks in town!
Reese and I had such a difficult time shaking our jet lag, that for over a week we had a hard time sleeping at night and getting up in the morning. We enjoyed walking to the pool on Wednesday evening and eating shawarmas on the patio.
I slept through Friday school this weekend, but Jordan went to the high school group at 10am. After church, Brooke and Reese play flag football, and then Brooke goes to the Middle School fellowship after a quick dinner, so Fridays are usually pretty busy.
Swim practice has been cancelled since November because the team missed renewing the coach's visa and he had to leave the country. Two new coaches from the Philippines are coming in February, so the girls have a break until then. We've been a little disappointed with this team because they aren't consistent with their practices and the girls complain that it's a little boring. I'm not sure what is missing - I volunteered to help spice up the practices, but I haven't heard back from the committee and I think it fizzled out. I guess the girls are appreciating their break from swim practice.
On Monday nights, Reese likes to go to the AWANA meetings at the elementary school.

She likes getting prizes for learning memory verses.
On Tuesday nights, Bruce and Brooke like to wood-work at the theatre and help make background sets.
Here's something I thought you would be interested to hear: The water here is salty. Everyone waters their gardens with salt water, showers in salt water, and even brushes their teeth with salt water. But every house has one faucet in their kitchen that has what they call, sweet water. It is not salty. I know one person who attaches a hose to her faucet, runs it though her house, and sprays her garden with it. I know another person who washes her hair in the kitchen sink every time, just to avoid washing it in the salt water. Reese is careful not to swallow the water when she brushes her teeth (actually, so am I!) Here is our little sweet water faucet on the right. That's why a lot of my plants have died :( One time I made sweet tea and forgot to use the sweet water... it was actually sweet and salty tea!
We thought this box was funny, because it reminds us of the Dough Boy... we think this might be the Arab Dough Boy!
I'm sorry I don't have many pictures this week, but we miss you all!
